	Enclosed is a new version of my ``Generality in Artificial
Intelligence'' with the modifications you propose in your June 4 letter.
I have made no other changes.

	Let me point out that Peter Denning's introduction is open
to the interpretation that there was a 1971 manuscript now being
published.  In fact, Robert Ashenhurst's request for a summary
of what I said induced me to write a full paper.  I don't object
to printing Denning's introduction as is, because the facts are
evident from the first paragraph of the paper and the extensive
references to more recent work including a 1986 paper.
